Indian Institute of Technology Madras (IIT Madras) ने Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering – GATE 2027 के लिए Information Brochure और application schedule जारी कर दिया है। Latest official update के अनुसार GATE Online Application Processing System (GOAPS) पर registration अब 27 August 2026 से शुरू होगा।
Candidates बिना late fee के 27 September 2026 तक registration कर सकेंगे, जबकि extended registration late fee के साथ 05 October 2026 तक चलेगा। GATE 2027 की परीक्षा February 2027 में तीन weekends पर आयोजित की जाएगी।
GATE एक national-level examination है जिसका score postgraduate और doctoral programmes में admission के लिए इस्तेमाल किया जा सकता है। कई Public Sector Undertakings भी recruitment में GATE score का उपयोग करती हैं। हालांकि GATE qualify करना अपने-आप admission, scholarship या PSU employment की guarantee नहीं देता।
2027 में कुल 30 test papers हैं और नया Robotics and Automation (RA) paper भी शामिल किया गया है। इसके अलावा Indian nationals के लिए GATE 2027 registration में verified DigiLocker account mandatory किया गया है।

Application fee प्रति test paper applicable होती है। यदि candidate allowed combination के अनुसार two papers choose करता है, तो applicable fee accordingly बढ़ेगी। Payment online application system के माध्यम से किया जाएगा।
GATE 2027 Eligibility
GATE 2027 के लिए broadly वह candidate eligible है जो किसी government-approved degree programme के third year या उससे higher year में पढ़ रहा है, या qualifying degree complete कर चुका है।
Applicable disciplines में Engineering, Technology, Architecture, Science, Commerce, Arts और Humanities programmes शामिल हो सकते हैं। Exact degree-wise eligibility official GATE eligibility table से check करनी चाहिए।
Who Can Apply?
- Eligible undergraduate programme के third year या higher year के students
- Qualifying degree complete कर चुके candidates
- Engineering / Technology candidates
- Architecture candidates
- Science candidates
- Commerce candidates, जहां applicable हो
- Arts / Humanities candidates, जहां applicable हो
- Eligible foreign nationals भी prescribed rules के अनुसार apply कर सकते हैं
DigiLocker Mandatory for Indian Candidates
Official GATE portal के अनुसार DigiLocker से candidate का Name, Date of Birth, Mobile Number, Email ID, Profile Picture, Address और verified ID card number जैसी information fetch की जाएगी।
Registration शुरू होने से पहले candidates को अपना DigiLocker account create/update करके verified रखना चाहिए, ताकि application के समय unnecessary delay न हो।
GATE 2027 Test Papers
GATE 2027 कुल 30 test papers के लिए आयोजित होगा। Candidate एक paper या permitted two-paper combination के अनुसार अधिकतम दो papers में appear कर सकता है।
इस वर्ष Robotics and Automation (RA) नया test paper जोड़ा गया है। BT syllabus, Textile Engineering & Fibre Science तथा XE, XH और XL sectional paper codes में भी updates किए गए हैं। इसलिए previous-year syllabus पर पूरी तरह depend करने के बजाय 2027 का updated syllabus check करें।
One or Two Papers
Candidate एक या अधिकतम दो test papers के लिए apply कर सकता है, लेकिन second paper केवल official allowed two-paper combinations में से चुना जा सकता है।
Two papers के लिए अलग-अलग application forms नहीं भरने हैं। Candidate को एक ही application/enrolment के अंदर allowed second paper add करना चाहिए।
GATE Score का Use कहां होता है?
- Master's programmes में admission
- Direct Doctoral programmes में admission
- Relevant Ph.D./Doctoral programmes
- Eligible programmes में financial assistance
- कुछ Public Sector Undertakings की recruitment
GATE score की validity result announcement date से 3 years रहती है। लेकिन individual institute का admission eligibility criterion अलग हो सकता है।
Financial Assistance
Official GATE information के अनुसार eligible M.Tech students को applicable rules के तहत ₹12,400 per month financial assistance generally 22 months तक मिल सकती है।
Direct Ph.D. programmes में applicable financial assistance अलग rules के अनुसार हो सकती है। केवल GATE qualify करना scholarship की automatic guarantee नहीं है; institute और applicable government rules final होते हैं।

Admission Process After GATE
GATE examination itself किसी single IIT/NIT में direct admission process नहीं है। Result आने के बाद candidate को जिस institute/programme में admission चाहिए, उसके separate admission process और eligibility conditions follow करनी होंगी।
GATE score का उपयोग IITs, IISc और अन्य participating/eligible institutes के postgraduate या doctoral admissions में किया जा सकता है। Institute-wise application, counselling, offer acceptance और seat-allotment rules अलग हो सकते हैं।
